Magic School! [Open]
[OOC: It's exactly what it says on the tin: magic school! Where the more magically apt teach those less so to use what they've been unwillingly given. Feel free to make subthreads to teach or to learn, and assume this is all taking place in the park on the same(ish) day.]

Like I said: you might wanna put it on.

[ He flips his helmet up off his hip and into his hands, settling it in place. A twist and a hiss and it's locked. ]
Let's see what you got.

[He's been practicing quite a bit since Celestia helped him figure his magic out, so this may well be a surprise for York. He drops into a more ready stance and pulls his arms forward in a quick, wide lateral arc, a sweeping gesture that starts with his hands nearly behind his back and ends with them nearly clapped together in front of them. He's trying to recreate the concussive wave he'd done the first panicked, disastrous time he'd managed to use his magic; fortunately for York, he's nowhere near there yet. The gust of wind he creates isn't focused or powerful enough to be that; it is, however, short and sharp and may well knock York on his ass if he's not well balanced.]

Not through any skillful move on York's part- hell no. The sudden clap and rush of wind makes his HUD go bugnuts with a lot of angry red that it can't get a read on and the last time THAT shit happened he lost an eye. Panic. Panic has him porting from where he is to behind Wash rather than falling on his butt.
If it'd been up to him to try to port out of the way on PURPOSE he-
Honestly wouldn't have made it. And he knows it. Shit. ]
Lookit you Mr. Last Airbender.
[ His voice has a slight waver to it- still unsettled. Okay. Less panic. Do it on Purpose next time. ]

[Against York. It's York behind him. Again.]
I swear to God, if you do that again, I'm hitting you with something.
[He's not quite freaked out enough to be shrill, but that's definitely the next step. More to the point, he can hear the waver in York's comment. Looks like Wash isn't the only one who panicked.]
You okay?

[ He cracks the seal on his helmet just to get out of the damn thing, frowning at the readout with it off his head like that'll make it any better. ]
Remind me to try to calibrate it to 'Sonic Boom' or whatever you call that trick.

[Better to keep it casual for now, as pressing whether York is okay will just lead down a very stubborn road that won't benefit either of them right now.]

[ But he could figure something out. Okay. Walking around Wash to stand in front, rolling out his shoulders. ]
Let's try this again.
