[What's the first thing you learn in every video game? Throw a fireball.

And yet Casey can't even seem to manage that. You have to make enough fire to form into a ball, and then you have to form it into a ball and fire...just kind of catches on everything.

Long story short, what flies through the air isn't a fireball so much as a burning fingerless glove that slipped off his hand.]

Well, the water magic is very fluid. You must center yourself to hold it steady.

I suppose...I was never much for fire magic, even before. Lightning, at times.

What does it generally feel like when you use it?

Lightning? [Casey's got a thoughtful face on.] That's pretty much just...really quick fire, right...?

Uh...it's like it starts burnin' in my gut and goes to the rest of my body through my blood. Sometimes it's like I can't stand still, it's so much!

It is plasma...but similar enough, I suppose.

Perhaps you should...attempt not to use quite that much. Can you moderate it?

Plasma. Fire. Same diff. [He doesn't know plasma from petroleum jelly but that sounds like she thinks it's possible.]

Well, I don't hafta do that to get it going but...it was kinda like...the more I feel it, the hotter it gets? Like, it wasn't burnin' my glove 'til I got steamed about not bein' able to toss a fire ball.
