Rebuilding [Open]

[A few days after the Nox escaped the sewers and the Mayor sends out her missive, construction crews are on site at the college campus, beginning repairs on the sinkhole. While they're grateful to the outsiders using their magic to keep the Nox away, they're still a little leery of them. With everything that's happened, can you blame them?]

[Whether you're there to help with construction or security duty or just walking by to see what's going on or to bring your hardworking friend lunch, it's definitely an interesting place to be. Maybe someone has theories about how the Nox got out of the sewers...]

[Well, Aaron's just as much a bystander as the cityfolks clustered in nervous flocks around the construction site, but he's got more curiosity, more nerve than they do, and has been inching closer until finally going as close as he could.

--which was when Tex interrupted him. He takes a defensive step back and raises both hands.]

Hey, hey, I'm-- I'm just looking, I'm-- I'm guessing you're one of the transplants too?"

[Transplants meaning one of the kidnapped soldiers.]

[ Tex has the distinct advantage over all the other people in the area in that she's housed in a large black robot. She's not in danger of getting hurt if she falls into that hole. She's not exactly taking risks and getting close like Aaron did, though.

When he speaks, her helmet tilts in Aaron's direction. ]

Yeah, I'm a transplant all right. I guess they're bringing in kids and everyone, huh?

You certainly look the part better than most of us.

[Like Greg. Or Celestia, for that matter, but that pony packed a punch and he won't underestimate her again.]

I wouldn't say that, exactly, I... have you met any actual kids?

[Because, oh boy will he have something to say to the glittery golden fucker if that's the case.]

I'm Aaron, by the way. What's your name?

Just you. I guess you're not an 'actual kid'?

[ As far as she's concerned, most everyone around here is a kid. It's a university, after all. But she doesn't sound offended; she might be slightly amused. ]

I'm over twenty. I haven't been a kid for a long time.

Nice to meet you, Tex. I've been looking around and trying to make myself useful, but these people are... well, they're kind of distrustful of everybody. Have you had any luck?

Not much. I work security for the university, but it's because of what I can do physically. I'm not supposed to use any magic on the job.

[ Not that she's figured out what her 'magic' is meant to be. ]

What do you mean by making yourself useful?

[While he's sitting in on the already-sparse classes, made sparser still the the Nox incursion.]

I have healing magic. I'm going to go to the hospital a little later to see if I can help there, but right now I'm just... hanging around, I guess, until the crowd over there calms down.
