[ Megatron is a 35-foot-tall robot covered in spiked armour with glowing red eyes, first and foremost, but right now he is also technically a tourist and a kidnappee. It's a fairly new situation to him, given how hard it is to get someone like him to go anywhere they don't particularly want to go. This probably explains the slightly puzzled look on his face.

Those unfortunate enough to be close by will hear heavy, metallic footsteps wandering around the apartment district. He's trying to familiarise himself by exploring, but it's a little awkward when you take up most of the street. ]

[Rose was expecting a giant shadowy monster, when she followed the sounds of those footsteps. What she finds is... well, pretty spot on, other than the shadowy part.

Still, no reason to make assumptions. It doesn't appear to be a Nox, so there's a chance it's friendly, right? So, she's going to approach it peacefully, with her sword lowered.]

Excuse me. My name is Rose Quartz. If you don't mind me asking, who, and what are you, exactly?

[ Megatron isn't massively familiar with humans, but are they supposed to get that tall? He narrows his eyes and responds without assumptions, because maybe she's not. ]

Lord Megatron, of the Decepticons. If you haven't heard of me, I must be very far from chartered space. Perhaps I will tell you what I am when I am certain of your intent, Rose Quartz.

[Alright, so this huge thing can talk. Good! For a moment, Rose thought she might have been trying to address a mindless machine, rather than a living being.]

I can't say that I've ever heard of you or any Decepticons, no. Chances are, this space is entirely different from the one you're familiar with.

I'm the leader of the Crystal Gems, a group dedicated to protecting humanity. Most of the people here aren't from the same reality that I am, and I've been separated from the rest of my group, but my mission is still the same. I just need to know if you pose a threat to the people here, that's all. I'm sure you understand my concern.

[ Protecting weaker species? Wow this is so out of his care zone he doesn't even have the energy to roll his eyes. ]

I "pose a threat" to those who might seek to control and oppress me or my cause. And to anyone operating under the Autobot badge. Though if you have not heard of the Decepticons, that hardly seems relevant.

[ Info for info, then. ] I come from a planet known as Cybertron. I assure you, I am quite disinterested in humanity or any other race. I have my own concerns for the time being. [ like: energon, and how to refine it? ]

[That, and she doesn't feel entirely comfortable just leaving the giant robot to his own devices around all these easily broken buildings and stepped on people. Especially when so much of his attitude is really giving her a Homeworld vibe. Still, best to keep things simple and polite either way. It's been a very, very long time since she's had to deal with first contact with another race, but she still remembers the protocol pretty well, and offending their leader isn't really something that's advised. Unless they're going to be conquered, but Rose isn't really counting those parts of the protocol.]

[ Megatron looks annoyed for a moment - because as if - ...But no, he can't be sure that she can't help him. She's not human, and he doesn't know her species or its capabilities, and more importantly, he doesn't know her. Maybe he will follow her suggestion. He suspects quite strongly that he doesn't have much to lose. ]

You may have already guessed a Cybertronian does not run on air. Luckily I have already located a source of an important mineral within the local mine. But without refinement, energon is as much use to me as a volatile rock. I require a means of refining it.

I am on the lookout for a distillery to be repurposed. Or the parts I might need to build my own. ...Machinery. Containers. Leftover industrial parts.

Ah. Well, there may be some good news, then! I go near the mines to practice my magic quite often, and there's quite a bit of machinery that's been left behind there. The humans here don't use it anymore for whatever reason, so I'm sure there'll be no problems if you use it for yourself.

If there's any other parts you need, I'd be happy to check the stores for you. The people here are... uneasy, enough around newcomers as it is. I don't think they'd react very well to someone as imposing as yourself. Of course, I'd need a few more details to know what you need, but keeping yourself fueled is something I'd be happy to help with.

[ She's far too easygoing. There's wartime etiquette for this, but Megatron is pretty sure it doesn't apply - he's alone, and leading an army no longer factors in. It's been a long time since he acted as an individual and not as the head of a violent political movement. ]

If I require anything I cannot locate alone, am I to assume I can contact you, Rose Quartz? You may yet prove useful. [ ...uh, and- ] Your eagerness to cooperate is certainly acknowledged. [ he can't even thank people properly, what is this. ]

...You're welcome? [The way he's phrasing that certainly isn't reassuring, but. All things considered, this is going much better than she thought things would when she first heard him stomping around. He doesn't seem directly hostile at least, so she can move him down a few threat levels, beneath the Nox and Peridot.]
